'In God Alone' is an album of music from the Taize Community, based near Cluny in France. It was recorded in the chapel of Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, using a small choir of nine people. Taking its inspiration from the recording 'Officium', by Jan Garbarek and the Hilliard Ensemble, the album features improvised woodwind parts - on soprano and baritone saxophones - by Mike Haughton, who is well known for his work with the group Iona, among others. An MP3 file of a section of the title track is available here. The album can be purchased online from Sounds Good. (It's at the bottom of the Sounds Good page.) It's also available as a download from iTunes and Amazon's MP3 site. |
